How we price consulting work

Laurel Field Consulting quotes each engagement after a short scoping conversation. We do not sell subscriptions or retainer packages you did not ask for. The figures below are starting points — final fees depend on organisation size, travel, and depth of document review.

Operational assessment

From $4,800

Covers stakeholder interviews, document review, process mapping, written report, and board presentation. Add $650 per additional on-site visit outside South East Queensland. Organisations with more than twenty paid staff typically fall in the $6,200–$8,500 range.

Governance review

From $3,200

Constitution-to-practice review, delegation mapping, and governance health report. Complex multi-entity structures are quoted separately after we see your organisational chart.

Board facilitation

$1,450 / half-day

Full-day sessions are $2,600. Includes pre-session briefing with the chair and written summary notes. Venue hire and catering are your responsibility.

Volunteer program design

From $2,900

Coordinator workshops, role description drafting, and intake kit. Add $400 if working-with-children policy alignment requires extra insurer liaison.

What affects your quote

  • Travel — South East Queensland included; interstate travel billed at cost with prior approval.
  • Urgency — engagements needed inside two weeks may incur a scheduling premium.
  • Document volume — archives exceeding 200 pages are scoped as additional review hours at $165/hour.
  • Follow-on support — optional implementation check-ins at $195/hour, booked in two-hour blocks.

Deposits and payment

We invoice 40% on engagement letter signature and 60% on delivery of the final report or facilitated session. Payment by bank transfer within fourteen days. GST applies to all fees.
